It is not known exactly how Thomas Riddle, who did not become the Dark Lord, however still not known for the benevolent character at all, reacted to this, still father and son quarreled so much that Riddle Jr. even changed his name and surname, soon after graduating from Hogwarts.

After school, Markus Redblack studied at St. Mungo where he got his diploma - he came to Hogwarts as a healer to replace Madame Pomfrey. But something went wrong, and instead of the position of chief medical officer, Markus took the headmaster’s chair. Though the only headmaster privilege he got was the office, even his title is accompanied by the humiliating prefix of “acting”. But Markus is not the one to give up! Or is he? However, as troubles brew at Hogwarts and events begin to unfold - Markus takes it into his hands and starts to act: this isn’t the work he has signed up for, as circumstances change, Markus has too. Not that he has much of a choice! How else would he, in his guise as Lord Rattlesnake, find out what brought him to Azkaban?

House: Ravenclaw

Position: Medical Wizard, Acting Headmaster

The acting headmaster of Hogwarts, a medical wizard, and the last person in the world who would want to shoulder such a heavy burden. Marcus is the son of Tom Riddle, though he has long since severed ties with his family. It is said that his father cut him out of his life and will, and Marcus himself was quick to rid himself not only of his past but also of his old name. At Hogwarts, Marcus was frankly mediocre; he regularly mixed up basic spells and was so woefully unsuccessful at potions that his sorting into Ravenclaw seemed like a bad joke. Many still suspect that something isn’t quite right with him: Marcus’s magic sometimes behaves strangely, as if reluctantly obeying him, and he himself gives the impression of someone who doesn’t always understand what’s going on. Nevertheless, by some miracle, he managed to successfully train as a medical wizard. Marcus arrived at Hogwarts to replace Madam Pomfrey - only to find himself in the headmaster’s office instead of the hospital wing, becoming an unwitting participant in other people’s intrigues, which he would never have gotten involved in of his own free will. Marcus loves a drink, beautiful women, and the chance to do nothing for once. But behind his feigned slacker attitude lies a stubborn desire to prove to those around him - and perhaps to himself - that he is capable of being something more than just a temporary pawn in someone else’s game.
