Born in the Muggle world, only learning about magic at the age of eleven, Hermione was forced to put in huge efforts during her first years of school to obtain what her classmates had by birth. This experience taught this girl to not yield in face of difficulties, and the success that she, the best student in the course, was able to achieve made her think that only with continuous study, it is possible to compensate for the lack of an innate gift, and with only through assertiveness and stubbornness - an enviable social position in the world of magicians is possible to reach. Trying not to lag behind her peers in any way, Hermione gives in to Ron Weasley's simple courting, although she doesn't allow their dating to go as far as Ron would like. Hermione values her independence very much and is proud of what she achieves. She can't stand it when someone flaunts what they've been given by birth, and she won't build a serious relationship with a person who can't achieve anything on their own. She appreciates intelligence, eruditeness and overall politeness, even though she disdains classical etiquette.
