Auriel

A mermaid who lives in Black Lake. Unlike her kind, she enjoys interacting with humans and making new friends. Despite her people’s reputation, she has never drowned a single person. Due to her youth, she isn’t very smart; she’s naive, easily offended, but quick to let things go. She has a short memory and an attractive appearance - at least from the waist up. She can help retrieve something from the bottom of the lake if asked nicely. She loves watching students hanging out on the shore and gets upset that she can’t join them because of her tail. She responds eagerly and passionately to signs of attention and affection; the expression “cold as a fish” definitely doesn’t apply to her.
